COURSE OVERVIEW

Your Judaism holds a message the world wants to hear. It's time to unlock it.

What values enable a good life? What values shape a just society? Join this four-part course to discover Judaism's ethical message for all people.

Explore foundational Jewish texts to discover the spiritual path our tradition offers every individual. You'll explore how these values guide family life and uncover the essential role of education. Plus, understand what it takes to achieve Judaism's vision of a more perfect and peaceful world for all humanity.

(No previous Jewish learning necessary.)

LESSON OUTLINE

01 - The Message of Abraham: Our universal message isn't "Be Jewish," so what is it? See how Judaism's universal concern began with Abraham and what ethical monotheism means in practice.

02  - Is Morality Obvious?: Can logic create morality? Explore the value of innate human dignity, where it comes from, and the trouble with pinning new sources to a timeless moral principle. (This class is being held on Tuesday, May 5th).

03 - Educating Children:  Is raising kids all about career-prep? What should we teach our children at school and at home? See the critical purpose that makes family life so central to Judaism's universal morality.

04 - It Will Get Better:  History is a story of purpose and progress, not endless cycles of doom. See how this makes every moral choice a stepping stone to a harmonious future.
